Applico was contracted to redesign the “manipulator” that handles the Patriot Missile nose cone. This is a partial manually operated mechanism utilizing electric and pneumatic actuators. We designed a custom bearing which allowed the entire manipulator to rotate. The Raytheon facility was very impressive!
